About Us.

Established in 2014

OxRAM initially started as the Oxford 3D printing society and comprised of a couple 3D-printing enthusiasts studying material science and engineering. In 2017, we added the robotics wing to the society. In 2019, we transformed from a 3d-printing, workshop-based society to a robotics, project-based society.

OxRAM has a long history of rapid transformation and we aim to continue changing and evolving in the same way the tech industry rapidly grows and evolves.

Our Goal

"We aim to be the largest tech society in the UK.

In 2014, we started with less than 30 members and since then have grown to have over 500 members, comprising of both undergraduate and graduate students studying a vast variety of subjects.

We aim to harness the student "out-of-the-box" spirit to create new and exciting developments in tech

Oliver Brewster
President

I study engineering science at Hertford College. I have spent several years tinkering with 3D printers and electronics and am excited to be working with society members on some new projects. I look forward to meeting everyone in
upcoming society events.

Jacques Cloete
Treasurer / Robot Arm Project Lead

Hi! I'm a third year Engineering Science student at Trinity College, specialising in robotics. My particular interests are dynamic robotic systems and control theory, and the Robot Arm Project is the perfect environment for learning and to put ideas into practice! I am proud to be a Robot Arm Lead as well as Treasurer for the society.

Federico Igne
IT Officer

Hi, this is Federico, a third year DPhil student in Computer Science. I am really passionate about free and open source software/hardware, privacy and decentralization of the web. I got into electronics and robotics thanks to Arduino and in general I get a nice boost of endorphins whenever I build something on my own.

Magnus Lawrence
Social Media Officer

Hi, I'm Magnus. I am a 2nd year Materials student at Queen's and have been entrusted with the position of OxRAM's Social Media Officer for the coming year. Whilst much of my time is spent coding and working on other STEM pursuits, I am fascinated by the intersection of efficiency, functionality, and aesthetics: an area perfect to explore via 3D printing.
