Tonight we held our first speaker event of the term.
A huge thank you to Daniel Sors from Catapult as well as everyone who came and actively interacted, it was a really informative and enjoyable session!
As a short summary, our speaker is an aerospace engineer passionate about space science and technologies who is currently supporting the UK space ecosystem to develop technologies at the Satellite Applications Catapult. He shared about the status of the space sector, key space technologies and examples of space technologies being developed around Oxford, specifically about the Harwell and Westcott campus of Catapult,
Check out the photos below for the wonderful presentation, including links to the various tools, online portals, virtual/augmented reality platforms, as well as apps recommended by our speaker!

A huge thank you to all the lovely people that came to meet us at the OxRAM stall at the Freshers' Fair 2022! We hope we managed to give you a taste of the friendly, yet thriving, environment that you will find with us at OxRAM.
We look forward to seeing you all again soon for the exciting events we will be hosting this term!

In the meantime, enjoy a couple of pictures of our hosts for this Freshers' Fair. From the left, we have:
  • our crafty president, Oliver. Legends say he fell in a pot of melted filament when he was a kid, and now he is able to 3D print with his own hands!
  • co-team leader of the RobotArm project, treasurer and OxRAM treasure, Jacques, better know as the "robot whisperer". Don't leave him alone with your toaster!
  • co-team leader of the RobotArm project, the energetic Yige. She dedicated her life to the art of storing energy into small portable solutions. She can work 24/7 thanks to a pack of lithium batteries installed on her back.

Hello all,

Hope everyone has had a great summer. We are happy to announce that OxRAM is accepting, and encouraging applications for our 2022-2023 committee. The window of application is 21st September - 5th October, with informal interviews running at our favourite local pub on the weekend of 0th week (date and time to be confirmed). Committee inductions and information handover will take place in 1st week ready to start a term of exciting projects and events.

Why is now the best time to join OxRAM?
We currently have a fantastic workshop space and meeting hub in the centre of Oxford, giving access to a huge set of tools and equipment for projects. We also have great sponsors so have the finances to launch the biggest projects to-date. We are looking for committed makers to join our committee and help with our goal to give the most people access to OxRAM's resources and get to work making some great stuff!

Please fill out the form below to register for your chosen committee positions (noting some positions are already taken). You will receive an email in the beginning of 0th week about informal interviews which will act as a chance to meet existing committee members.
  1. Check out our committee positions here
